A man who opened fire on two fishermen, leaving one wounded in the water, has been indicted on attempted murder charges. The shooter, Floyd Kirby, 75, has been indicted on two counts of attempted first-degree murder for wounding fisherman Ken Murray and firing at his friend Stan Owenby. Kirby had been charged with aggravated assault, which carries three to six years, however, grand jurors chose not to only indict him on aggravated assault but also the much tougher attempted murder charge. The new count carries 15 to 25 years in prison. Kirby has been free on bond since his arrest following the May 10 shooting and has been warned not to possess any firearms. The victims say Kirby opened fire from the shore of Harvest Farms Lake, located behind his home after yelling out to the men to leave.
