Judge Ross hears 41-person docket

A 41-person docket was heard Thursday by Judge Larry Ross in General Sessions Traffic Court including a man who head butted a police officer who was trying to arrest him.The man, Brandon Wayne Steele, 25, was ordered to serve 10 days of an 11-29 sentence on charges of resisting arrest, shoplifting and driving on a suspended license.He was pulled over for a minor traffic offense before police realized he was driving without a license. It was during his arrest McMinnville Patrolman Jared Jacobs said Steele began to resist.“I was trying to cuff him and he resisted arrest, head-butted me and then ran away from me,” Officer Jacobs said, noting Steele gave him a fake name after he was caught following a foot chase.The theft charge comes for his taking an album from Hastings without paying for it.Included in other traffic court action:• Jonathan Youngblood was directed to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence and pay $1,949 for possession of drugs.• Jonathan Childs was instructed to serve five days of an 11-29 sentence, pay $352 and lose his driver license for two years for second-offense driving on a suspended license.• Tony Hillis was directed to serve seven days of an 11-29 sentence, pay $1,413 plus costs and restitution, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI school and forfeit his driver license for one year for DUI.• Amber Brown was ordered to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence, pay $1,413 plus costs and restitution, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI school and forfeit her driver license for one year for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.• Robert Nunley was bound to the grand jury on charges of second-offense DUI and driving on a suspended license.• Lucas Crawford must pay $306 and perform 16 hours public service work for underage consumption.• Natalie Jones must pay $325 for driving without a license.• Tiffanie Ramsey was directed to serve 48 hours of a six-month sentence, pay $352 and lose driving privileges for one year for driving on a revoked license.• Demecia Garcia, Marcus Tanner, Natalie Talbert and Jeffery Green must pay $152 for driving without a license.• Brian Rust must pay $162 for driving without a license.• Ricky Northcutt must serve 48 hours for violation of probation.Clarification:• The Ashley Basham who was convicted on suspended license and drug paraphernalia charges is not the same one who resides on Hardaway Street.
