Jones steals from probation officer

A woman on probation has been sentenced to five days in jail for stealing from her probation officer.The woman, Coleen Jones, 41, entered a guilty plea before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to the charge of misdemeanor theft. She was ordered to serve five days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and perform 25 hours public service work. She will also be required to write a letter of apology.Her sentence comes after she was caught stealing $100 from a deposit bag while she was attending a meeting at CPS.In other General Sessions action this week:• Brennen Meade was bound to the grand jury on charges of possession of drugs for resale and initiating the process to manufacture meth.• Christopher Shields was bound to the grand jury on the charge of possession of a controlled substance.• Elton Sanders must serve 30 days and have his probation extended by six months for violation of probation.
