A repeat sexual offender who failed to report his whereabouts to authorities will serve three months for violating his agreement with the sexual offender registry.The defendant, Timothy Wayne Johnson, 46, has two prior convictions for sex crimes and failed to report his address to the state sexual offender registry as required by law after he was released from prison. Under state law, any change of address must be submitted to the proper authorities within 48 hours of the move. The registry helps keep track of convicted sex offenders, listing their names, pictures and whereabouts on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation website, which is available to the public.In addition to his failure to list his most recent address, Johnson was arrested while free on bond on the sexual offender charge and charged with domestic assault of attacking an ex-girlfriend.
