The eighth annual Main Street Live summer concert series will come to an end Friday night with the Joe Harvey Band and a Downtown After Dark 5K race.
Formed in 2002, the Joe Harvey Band has members from Warren County and is well-known throughout Middle Tennessee. In addition to Joe Harvey, rounding out the other members are Travis Vance on bass guitar, Lee Carr on rhythm guitar, Jonathan Waldrop on lead guitar, and Even Gross on drums.
The band offers a combination of classic rock, blues, alternative rock, and modern rock. Along with a high-energy performance, Friday will feature a wide variety of tunes from multiple genres and artists, says Harvey.
Main Street McMinnville executive director Carla King says a number of local residents requested another appearance from the Joe Harvey Band.
“They are definitely back by popular demand,” she said. “The Joe Harvey Band is one of the most popular bands we have had at Main Street Live. They will once again be offering their rich classic rock.”
Also back is the organization’s second annual Downtown After Dark 5K race. The race includes at 5K run/ walk and a one-mile race for children. Registration begins at 6 p.m., with the race starting during the concert’s intermission at 8 p.m. The entry fee is $20. The race will begin and end at Exchange Furniture.
Reflective clothing is a must.
“Runners are required to have reflective clothing, not just on their shoes,” said King. “If they do not, they will forfeit their winnings. McMinnville Police Department Chief Bryan Denton has worked very hard to make sure this is a safe race and we need to do our part. We really want this to be a safe event.”
There will be a variety of food and beverages available from vendors. Parking and admission are free so bring a chair and enjoy the music. Come early and stake out a good spot.
The Joe Harvey Band will take the stage and begin entertaining at 7 p.m. on the West Lawn of Security Federal. Food and beverage vendors open at 6 p.m. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Smoking is not allowed in the crowd.
