Warren County has seen a dramatic increase in the number of field fires which have consumed many acres and resulted in property damage – including Centertown Recreational Park.“It’s gone wild this year,” said Centertown Fire Lt. Joey Clark. “I guess part of it could be the product of an unusually cold winter drying things out, but whatever it is we’re seeing a lot of fires.”Clark noted that of the fires his department has worked, the “overwhelming majority” of them are started by people doing illegal burning. A burning permit is required, outside McMinnville city limits, through the Division of Forestry until May 15.
