If you have hazardous household waste, Saturday is the time to bring it to Three Star Mall.The state will have a hazardous waste mobile collection site set up tomorrow at the mall parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Typical items to dispose of include cleaning fluids, pesticides, mercury thermometers and thermostats, fluorescent bulbs, lithium and button batteries, aerosols, adhesives, medications, brake fluid, swimming pool chemicals, and paint thinner.Items not accepted include ammunition, explosives, alkaline batteries, paint, electronics, medical waste, and any items from a school, commercial business or agri-business.“Since an article appeared in the paper on Sunday, we’ve had a lot of people calling about paint, which is no longer accepted,” said local coordinator Mary Lou Ward. “That’s because paint is now accepted at the convenience center at the fairgrounds. You can drop it off there any day they’re open.
