Magness House property goes in market

It was saved from fire during the Civil War and spared from bulldozers in the early 1980s.Now the historic Magness House and its rich history is for sale. The Barnes family, which has owned the home since 1981 and done a great deal of work restoring it, has listed the property, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.“More than anything, I hope someone from Warren County is interested in it and wants to buy it because of all the history it has here,” said Ann Barnes. “It’s right there with the Black House as one of the oldest homes in McMinnville.”The home was built around 1835 by one of McMinnville’s most prominent citizens, William Black.
