“We are trying to keep the winners under wraps,” said event organizer Mary Robbins. “We have sent out VIP invitations. If you get one, it might be a good idea to attend.”
The awards banquet is presented by Warren County Heritage Alliance and Main Street McMinnville to honor organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the history and culture of McMinnville and Warren County during the past year.
Thursday’s program schedule will be as follows:

• Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served at 5 p.m.
• Presentation of the Main Street Photography Project by Bill Luton at 5:30 p.m.
• Historic Preservation Awards presentation by Jimmy Haley, president of Warren County Heritage Alliance, at 6 p.m.
Along with the Volunteer Spirit Award, being given are preservation awards for Musical Heritage, African-American Heritage, Landmark Property, Heritage Tourism, and Continuing Education.
“The announcement will also be made of properties that are being added to the local historic registry,” said Robbins.
May is Preservation Month. This year’s theme is “See! Save! Celebrate!”
