More than four months after officials voted to remove it, the sign next to Park Theatre was unceremoniously removed Sunday morning by city employees.“I thought removing the sign on a Sunday morning would be best,” said McMinnville Public Works director Bill Brock, whose department was tasked with removing the sign. “The businesses are closed and there is less traffic. We had to block off a lane and the sidewalk.”The decision to remove the sign was made in March after officials received a request from David Stinson, president and owner of Diamond Jewelry Company, who wanted the sign removed for several reasons: 1) It is rusty and dilapidated.
