The Swan Mill Road bridge project in the Vervilla community is well under way with an estimated finish date in October, according to Road Superintendent Levie Glenn. The I-beam/ Bulb-T style bridge will be replacing the deteriorating one-lane bridge that had been in place for decades.Highways Inc. won the bid, according to Highway and Bridge Committee chairman Gary Prater.“Highways came in with the low bid of $981,000,” Prater said, noting the company has several other projects in the county, including the new bridge near Westwood and the Woodbury four-lane project.Glenn said the new bridge has been a longtime goal for him and his father, former Road Superintendent Harold Glenn.“I’m proud for Warren County and proud for the citizens out here in this end of the county,” Glenn said. “They’ve been needing this bridge for a long time. A lot of traffic comes through here.
