School security and access to public land are going head-to-head as School Board members mull over a request to allow access to Hickory Creek, the creek not the school, by way of the high school and elementary school campus.“Security is our biggest concern,” said Warren County High School principal Tony Cassel who was not keen on the idea of allowing boaters entry through the campus during school hours.At issue was a request made to the School Board by Michael Griffith. He represents local kayakers and paddlers who want access to Hickory Creek. Griffith says the creek is an untapped resource which could be a major means of tourism in Warren County.“The tourism potential is huge,” Griffith said.
