This year marks 14 years since 9/11 and for the fifth consecutive year, Centertown Volunteer Fire Department will send a team of firefighters to participate in the Nashville 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. The event will take place this Sunday, Sept. 13, at the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower in downtown Nashville. There are 343 firefighters scheduled to climb the tower in remembrance of the 343 New York firefighters who died Sept. 11, 2001.At 8:45 a.m., the approximate time the first airplane hit the first tower, the event will begin with a commemorative ceremony, during which actual radio traffic recorded Sept. 11 by firefighters going up the stairs will be played.
