Gunter gets 47 days for eight, nine or 10 beers

The eight, nine or 10 beers consumed by a drunk driver will cost him 47 days in jail and nearly $2,000 in fines.The man, Jimmy Gunter, 46, of Spencer entered guilty pleas before General Sessions Judge Larry Ross to charges of second-offense DUI, reckless endangerment and driving on a revoked license. He was directed to serve 47 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and must pay $1,967. He also had his driver license revoked for two years.The charges were brought after a deputy saw Gunter driving a Toyota pickup on Sparta Street on the wrong side of the road.
