Greenway Council members are asking for assistance from the city in constructing River Trail East.Chairman Wally Bigbee says a kudzu patch in the area of Hobbs Parks needs to be eradicated.“I have read if you just cut the kudzu you can keep on cutting it and maybe it will be gone in five to 10 years,” said Bigbee. “There are some chemicals that can be placed there. One that I looked at says it’s very good for kudzu, but then off in the corner it says ‘Dangerous: cannot be used around water.’ I don’t think we can get much closer to a waterway.”Kudzu is a climbing, coiling, and trailing perennial vine that can be invasive.
