The Warren, Coffee, Grundy, and Franklin County FSA Offices are holding an informational meeting Wednesday, June 25 at 5 p.m. to explain the Farm Service Agency’s Tree Assistance Program. The meeting will be held at the Otis Floyd Nursery Research Center, located at 472 Cadillac Lane in McMinnville.This meeting is being held specifically to place special emphasis on providing nursery producers with an overview of the Agricultural Act of 2014 (the 2014 Farm Bill) authorizing the Tree Assistance Program to provide financial assistance to qualifying orchardist and nursery tree growers to replant or rehabilitate eligible trees, bushes and vines damaged by natural disasters. The 2014 Farm Bill makes the Tree Assistance Program a permanent disaster program and provides retroactive authority to cover eligible losses back to Oct. 1, 2011.
