Anticipating a special guest in December? Move away from the chimney and check out a new program called Santa Paws that could have just what you need.The inaugural Santa Paws will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Three Star Mall by Warren County Animal Control. Dogs, cats and kittens will be on hand and ready for adoption.“We wanted to offer this event to encourage adoptions, to raise awareness about the importance of spay and neuter, and to raise funds for vets bills,” said Warren County Animal Control director Kim Pettrey.Offered will be a pet fashion show at 11 a.m. featuring some of the animals, on-site pet adoptions, spay/ neuter awareness materials, a bake sale, a pet treats sale, and silent auction that will have several items including a hand-sewn cat quilt crafted and donated by Betty Newsome.Special guests will include four-legged visitors provided by Linda Coursey from Viola Valley Dog Rescue and Jamie Wheeler of Kastaway Kitties Cat Rescue and Sad Eyes Urgent Rescue.
