Free banana splits offered today

The Southern Standard’s annual Banana Day is set for Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at our office at 105 College Street. The newspaper traditionally gives away 700 to 800 free banana splits during the event.
Prices for a one-year subscription have been discounted to the ridiculously low price of $58 a year. That’s less than the cost of one tank of gas for many vehicles. A six-month subscription can be purchased for $30.50. The subscription prices are good this Friday only.
“We want to have as many Southern Standard readers as possible and these low subscription prices make the newspaper very affordable,” said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman.
Subscribers can also take advantage of Auto Pay, a program that automatically withdraws the money from your checking account each month. With Auto Pay, customers are only charged $5.66 per month, with no renewal notices to worry about.
In addition to a free banana split, you can also register to win cash prizes at our office this Friday. The Standard will be giving away $100 in cash as the grand prize and $50 in cash in another drawing. You do not need to be present to win.
