The Southern Standard’s annual Banana Day is set for Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at our office at 105 College Street. The newspaper traditionally gives away 700 to 800 free banana splits during the event.Prices for a one-year subscription have been discounted to the ridiculously low price of $58 a year. That’s less than the cost of one tank of gas for many vehicles.
