From making Americans laugh to making them wake up to the stark realities that face the nation, former “Saturday Night Live” star Victoria Jackson is leading by example.“I’ve been encouraging people to get involved in local government,” Jackson said during an interview before she spoke to the Go Xtreme youth group in McMinnville on Tuesday night. “I thought it would be hypocritical of me just to say it and not do it so I’m running for County Commission in Williamson County.”The former comedian recently moved from Miami to the Spring Hill area along with her family. She had lived in Miami for most of her life, her husband serving there as a policeman.“I really love this area and the people are so nice,” Jackson said of her new home, noting it was while she was speaking at a Lincoln Day Dinner in Robertson County that she was approached by local resident Chad Coppinger.
