A Florida couple was jailed while a local man was bound to the grand jury on meth lab charges following a chase in which their pickup crashed through a graveyard.The Florida residents, Jonathan D. Beers, 34, and Kelly D. Bess, 31, both entered guilty pleas before General Sessions Judge Larry Ross to the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Beers was given the longest sentence, ordered to serve 45 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, while Bess was directed to serve 21 days of an 11-29 sentence. Both were fined $250 plus court costs.Their sentences come after their partner in crime, R.D. Martin, rammed a deputy’s vehicle while driving a pickup belonging to the Florida couple.
