Fisherman's body found at Rock Island

The body of a fisherman missing since Monday when his canoe capsized was recovered Wednesday afternoon. The victim, Jerry Boyd, 49, of Rock Island was found near the Sand Bar boat ramp at Rock Island State Park, not far from where he was last seen alive when he fell from the canoe.Investigators say Boyd and friend Mark Kennedy were fishing from a canoe late Monday afternoon when rough water, perhaps from the release of water from the Great Falls Dam upstream, caused the boat to overturn. Kennedy was able to make it to shore and was helped out on the White County side of the lake by passersby. However, Boyd began swimming with the current and was last seen drifting downstream.
