Finding fare at the fair

Cheese fries and corndogs will be in high demand this week at the Warren County A&L Fair, but they are just speed bumps until the main course arrives – dessert.Food booth volunteers are quick to rave about their sweet treats.“We have a cinnamon apple pie that’s delicious. It’s my favorite,” said Lucky CIC volunteer Jonathan Womack.At Fairview CIC, volunteer June McGee says all their pies are made from scratch.“For the chocolate lovers, we have a great chocolate pie and you have to try the hot fudge cake,” said McGee.Fair-goers may notice more and more of the community food booths are now being operated by churches and other organizations. It’s a trend that’s likely to continue.“Fairview has had a booth for 37 years, but I don’t know for how much longer,” said McGee.
