An Altamont woman has been released on time served after she stole her sister’s identity and went on a spending spree.The woman, Shelby Marie Leia Fincher, 26, was given an 11-month, 29-day sentence for fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft. She is to make $194 restitution and perform 24 hours public service work as part of her probation.According to sheriff’s investigator Steven Carpenter, Fincher used her sister’s identity to obtain lines of credit. However, in creating the fraudulent accounts, Fincher used her own email address to connect to the accounts.Once she had the lines of credit, Fincher set about getting money and buying items.
