Attorney Josh Crain extended a new kind of fundraising challenge that Families in Crisis supporters showed they really “liked.”
A “Like” Facebook challenge earned the organization a $575 donation Monday.
“We were thrilled to receive this donation from Josh,” said Rhonda Wood, financial administrator for Families in Crisis. “All the money goes into our direct client services, which goes directly to help the victims of domestic violence.”
Leading to the donation was a challenge by Crain.
“I told them if they could get 200 people to ‘like’ the Facebook page for my law practice, I would donate $500 and $1 for every additional ‘like’ beyond the first 200,” Crain said.
The organization had approximately one week to accomplish this feat.
“He issued us the challenge and we were up for it,” said Wood. “He gave us till Nov. 1 to complete it. We were so excited to participate in this innovative fundraiser that would bring recognition to our agency, as well as to Josh’s law practice. I think we did really well.”
Crain has served on the board of directors for Families in Crisis. Since his time on the board, he has been actively involved in the organization and participating in fundraisers.
Of this challenge and donation, Wood said with a laugh, “We were more than happy to take Josh’s money. We are very appreciative of his continued support of this organization.”
Families in Crisis’ Facebook page is Families In Crisis New Beginnings, while Crain’s is Josh T. Crain Attorney at Law. He practices law in Warren County with a primary office in Murfreesboro.
