A mother who was nearly run over by a truck as she was pushing her babies in a stroller beside a highway while sexting will serve two months in jail. The mother, Chelsie L. Ely, 21, was directed by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve 60 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence for attempted child neglect. The teen she was walking with that day, Holden Nunley, 19, was ordered to serve seven days of an 11-29 sentence on the same charge.Their charges were brought when highway patrolman Gary Myers saw the pair pushing 2-year-old and 11-month-old children in a double stroller along Viola Highway (Highway 108). Worried there was no room on the shoulder of highway on which to safely walk, trooper Myers asked the couple if they needed assistance. They declined, saying they were fine as they kept walking along the narrow shoulder.Myers said he then began to turn around in a nearby driveway and looked back to see a near collision with a truck.“The truck swerved into the oncoming traffic lane in a curve to avoid running over them,” Myers said in his warrant against the two.
