A drunk driving father will serve a month in jail after he was caught behind the wheel with his 6-month-old son in the back seat. The father, Thomas Jones, 23, entered a guilty plea before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to the charge of DUI and was ordered to serve 32 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI Class and lose his driver license for one year. The additional charge of child endangerment was dropped as a result of his plea bargain.Jones was pulled over near Asbury Apartments after Police Sgt. Kenneth Seagraves fell in behind him and watched as he almost ran his Chevy Cobalt into a ditch.“I could smell a strong odor of intoxicant coming from his vehicle and person,” said McMinnville police officer Richard Teachout. “He had blood-shot eyes and was unsteady on his feet.”Police noticed several empty beer cans in the vehicle along with a nearly empty gallon jug of whiskey.
