A woman speeding with her hazard lights on has led to the indictments of her and her passenger after drugs were found in her vehicle. The defendants, Melissa Darlene Woods and Anthony Colwell, were indicted on charges of evading arrest and possession of drugs.Their arrests came when sheriff’s investigator Kevin Murphy passed Woods on Short Mountain Road.“She had hazard lights flashing and was traveling at high speeds,” Murphy wrote in his warrant against her. “I was having a hard time catching up traveling at 85 mph.”Murphy said the suspect crossed over into Cannon County and turned into a random driveway. When he pulled in behind her and turned on his blue lights she again fled, prompting him to chase her several more miles before she was stopped.A subsequent search netted a quantity of drugs.
