For the third time in less than three years, Police Chief Bryan Denton has been named interim chief at McMinnville Fire Department.Denton’s latest assignment to lead the Fire Department came last week when Keith Martin was terminated from the fire chief role he held for nearly a year.“I’ve spent my adult life in public service and I’m proud to step up when needed,” said Denton, who was notified Thursday of his new role. “There is mutual respect between the firefighters and me.”Kevin Lawrence was the last person to hold the fire chief job for more than a year. Lawrence had been on the job 11 years when he was fired in November 2011.
