A man with over 100 public drunkenness arrests, who was caught drinking beer at Riverfront Park, beat the rap this time after claiming he was not yet drunk when police arrived.“There’s a difference between drinking and slow drinking,” said Danny Martin, who has served much of his life behind bars for being a public drunk. “When I’m drinking, that 12 pack wouldn’t have lasted no time.”Policewoman Leilani DeFore said she found a 12 pack of 211 Steel Reserve beer in a nearby garbage can and three empty cans around the Riverfront gazebo when she arrived. She also reported finding a beer in his sweat jacket pocket and a beer in the leg of his jogging pants when she patted him down.
