Cope, 35, pleads guilty to committing odd act

A man will serve 30 days in jail for sitting in a lawnchair on his front lawn dressed as a woman while pleasuring himself.The suspect, Kevin Mac Cope, 35, entered a guilty plea Tuesday before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to the misdemeanor count of indecent exposure. He was charged after neighbors reported his unusual behavior to law enforcement.In his warrant against Cope, sheriff’s investigator Steven Carpenter said the suspect was seen committing lewd acts in public.“Mr. Cope was in the front yard of his residence on Hoover Drive wearing only a blonde wig and black jacket,” Carpenter said, noting he was dressed as a woman. “He did not have on any pants or underwear.”Carpenter said the suspect did not take steps to conceal his actions but instead appeared to be an exhibitionist.“He was seen by neighbors and was in view of anyone driving down the street,” Carpenter said.
