Members of the county’s Financial Management Committee voted to award Grissom Underground the sanitary sewer repair bid at Eastside Elementary. Grissom Underground’s bid was $93,800, which was the lowest bid for the project and was $76,000 cheaper than the second lowest bid received from Warren Mechanical Contractors at $169,940. J. Cumby Construction submitted a bid of $175,000 and JWC Specialties placed a bid of $275,916.Commissioners had previously opened all bids and voted to award the bid to Grissom Underground but requested the head engineer on the project to look at the bid specs to ensure everything requested was included in the bid due to the difference in bid quotes.
