Commissioner questions procedural issues in budget transfer

Members of the county’s Budget and Finance Committee met Thursday to approve budget transfers within various departments. Seven changes were approved and all but one passed unanimously.A transfer of $8,545 within the budget of Warren County Health Department to cover janitorial services passed 4-1. Voting in favor were County Commissioners Herschel Wells, chairman, Terry Bell, Carl E. Bouldin and Ken Martin, while voting against it was County Commissioner Michael Martin.Martin questioned the process taken by the county in approving the transfer request by Health Department director Andrea Fox.“The committee has to move the money in her budget,” said County Commissioner Michael Martin.
