Charles Collier emphasized his career in education, while Tanya Bess talked about her vision for the future as the two candidates met during a political forum Monday night at WCHS.The two are running for the 4th District School Board seat currently occupied by Bob Young. After 12 years on the board, Young is not seeking re-election.Collier talked about his 30 years as an education leader, serving as a school principal locally at Eastside and Northside. He was also a school principal in DeKalb County.“I served in Vietnam and that came in handy being a principal,” quipped Collier, who pointed out he was principal at both Eastside and Northside when those schools received accreditation.Bess says she enjoys going to work at Edward Jones and doing what she loves.
