Bitterly cold temperatures took their toll on the Warren County School System, snapping lines from Centertown to the Central Office.“We had four breaks in the sprinkler line at the Central Office,” Director of Schools Bobby Cox said, explaining why the most recent meeting of the School Board was held in the high school multi-purpose room instead of the normal board room at the Central Office.Cox said the busted lines caused some carpet issues and there had to be some duct work replaced. He noted it was fortunate someone was there when the lines burst otherwise the damage could have been much more severe.Cox said there were also line breaks on athletic fields, as well as on loading docks at the high school and Hickory Creek. The breaks have maintenance personnel trying to find something to insulate the outside lines that are exposed to the elements.Another such concern was a drinking fountain on the exterior of Centertown Elementary.
