McMinnville officials went with the offer that best matched the bid specifications when considering the purchase of a new lawnmower Tuesday night. Getting a unanimous nod from Street and Sanitation Committee members Rick Barnes and Jimmy Bonner was the Scag mower from a local deader at a cost of $9,508. Alderman Billy Wood was absent.Also under consideration were two bids from a dealer in Manchester for a John Deere mower for $8,600 and Xmark mower for $8,950.McMinnville Public Works director Bill Brock recommended officials purchase the Scag mower, at $908 more, saying only the Scag mower met the specifications requested in the bid documents.
