McMinnville officials will have their first open meeting tomorrow night about a possible settlement agreement over the local option sales tax lawsuit between city and county governments.A special called session has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday to review a resolution to “approve the settlement and dismissal of the pending lawsuit between the city and the county.”If accepted by officials, the resolution will be the first step in putting an end to an over 40-year agreement and two years of litigation. Step two will be Warren County commissioners voting to accept the agreement. The county’s regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., also Monday night, and a resolution on the issue was included in the packet mailed out to commissioners prior to the meeting.The original sales tax agreement from 1969 consolidated city and county school systems.
