McMinnville officials are once again discussing the possibility of allowing event organizers to sell alcohol at Park Theater.“Where are we on alcohol at Park Theater?” asked Alderman Steve Harvey during Tuesday night’s meeting of the city’s Parks and Recreation Committee. City administrator Bill Brock said, “The last I heard, it was dead until the board decides what it wants to do.”Harvey says he’s been approached by people interested in holding events at the facility but only if alcohol can be served.According to city attorney Tim Pirtle, Park Theater is exempt from any state law restrictions because it’s a historic theater.Harvey asked, “So, it’s allowed? What about outside vendors selling it?”Pirtle says state statute includes requirements when it comes to vendors.“It requires the vendor at the facility to have the requisite caterer’s license.
