A man who led officers on a high-speed chase has entered guilty pleas and is waiting for his fate to be decided by the court.The man, Christopher Steven Higgins, 34, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of assault, evading arrest, and filing a false report. He will be sentenced for those crimes following a hearing May 8. He went ahead and entered a plea to the charge of resisting arrest and was given 10 days in jail which he will serve pending sentence on the rest of his charges.Higgins led officers on a car chase with speeds topping 100 mph after they tried to stop him for questioning in connection with the assault of his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend.
