Dr. Grant Swallows announced the next principal of Warren County High School on Friday morning.
Mr. Chris Hobbs, a 1992 WCHS graduate, will take over as the executive principal coming home to Warren County after eight years in two other school districts. His most recent assignment was as principal of South Middle School in Franklin County.
Previously, Hobbs spent seven years as an assistant principal at Franklin County High School serving as the lead of the 9th Grade Academy as well as the testing coordinator. He spent one year as the principal of Tracy City Elementary School in Grundy County.
Prior to his career in administration, Hobbs was a teacher and coach at Irving College Elementary School in Warren County.
Swallows stated, “Throughout the process my goal was to identify a candidate that carried a passion to attack the unique challenges we face in our school and district. Mr. Hobbs not only has that passion but also the experience necessary to be successful as a leader. I am very pleased that he will be joining our team and look forward to the work that will be done to create the very best educational outcomes for our WCHS students.”
Hobbs is married to Desiree, a teacher at Irving College, and they have two children, Chance and Mia.
Hobbs said, “I want to thank Dr. Swallows for this opportunity to come back home as executive principal of Warren County High School. I will try to be the best leader I can be for our faculty, students, parents, and staff in Warren County. I will strive to make WCHS a great experience for future parents/students and am proud to be a Pioneer!”
Hobbs will officially begin his duties July 1.
