Songs of praise and prayer filled the air yesterday morning as church leaders and Habitat for Humanity representatives gathered for the dedication of the 21st Habitat home built in Warren CountyAfter inspirational words, a candle-lighting ceremony, and a Bible presentation, Habitat representative Kay Ramsey gave Jared and Holly Cherry the keys to their new home on Ebonwood Drive. The Cherrys, who have a 2-year-old son named Ethan, say the home is a tremendous upgrade from a one-bedroom apartment they were renting.Ramsey pointed out the home is not a donation. Habitat for Humanity provides a zero-interest loan for the financing, but the family is required to make monthly mortgage payments.“This is not a handout, but a hand-up,” said Ramsey. “Plus they have poured lots of hours of sweat equity into this home.
