A man has been sentenced to 120 days for hitting his mother and threatening to kill her if she called police. The man, Clint R. Cantrell, 24, was directed by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to serve 120 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, enter batterer intervention, and get a mental health evaluation on charges of domestic assault and violation of probation. The victim in the case, Cantrell’s mother, said the incident began when Cantrell began assaulting his brother because he wouldn’t let him use his phone. The mother said she heard the fight from her bedroom and came out to see Cantrell hitting his brother.“She broke up the brothers but then Clint turned on her and pushed her down,” said McMinnville police officer Matthew Stubblefield, noting her interference with the fight prompted Cantrell to threaten her. “He was yelling that he would kill her if she called police.”The angry son then went into the kitchen and began rifling through the silverware drawers, apparently looking for a knife.
