A Morrison woman was killed Tuesday morning when her car ran off rain-slick Jacksboro Road and slammed into a tree.The victim, Shanna Lynn Cantrell, 36, was pronounced dead on arrival at River Park Hospital following the 8:35 a.m. crash.According to Highway Patrolman Wade Myers, Cantrell was traveling southbound on Highway 287 during a torrential downpour when she lost control of her 2008 Honda. The area received 1.76 inches of rain Monday night continuing into Tuesday morning.After losing control, Cantrell’s vehicle went through the front yard of 4056 Jacksboro Highway and struck a tree. The main impact of the crash was focused on the front driver side of the vehicle.Investigators say she was heading toward nearby Shady Grove Road to pick up her mother and daughter when the fatal crash happened.
