Elementary school principals are expected to possess a strong, penetrating voice to tower above the playground din and command the attention of talkative kids. But 1,600 watts of amplified audio is always helpful in getting the message across.Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary, which has never before had an adequate sound system in its spacious cafeteria, will start the new year with a powerful voice, thanks to two volunteer organizations that linked up to donate a commercial-grade public address outfit pumping out 800 watts per stereo channel. The Rotary Club of McMinnville and the Warren County Democratic Party shared equally in funding a PA system that can be used in a variety of campus situations, such as making school announcements, serving pupil talent shows or even filling the cafeteria with calming background music during lunch.“We are happy to welcome this much-needed addition to Bobby Ray Elementary School, and we deeply appreciate the support from Noon Rotary and the county Democratic Party,” said Warren County School Board chairman Jeff Lee.
