Local attorney Jean Brock lost a close race to incumbent General Sessions Judge Bill Locke earlier this month but she led the way in spending, edging out her victorious opponent by close to a thousand dollars. According to the Pre-General Election reports filed with the election commission just before the Aug. 7 balloting, Brock reported spending 9,407 in the weeks just before the election. That was about a thousand more than Locke who spent $8,495 during that same period.
