Body of missing swimmer recovered from Normandy Lake

Coffee County emergency officials said the body of a missing teenage swimmer has been recovered from Normandy Lake.

Officials said 16-year-old Allen Moore was swimming with friends on Wednesday afternoon near the Barton Springs bridge.

Officials said the teen went under and did not come back up. A friend tried to rescue him by using a stick to reach him, but was unsuccessful. 


The Coffee County Sheriff's department and rescue squad were called out to the scene around 2 p.m. and recovered the body around 3:15 p.m.
