Blood drive at Main Street Live

Blood Assurance will hold a blood drive in conjunction with Main Street Live this Friday, July 26.
Donors can roll up their sleeves from 3-8 p.m. and each blood donation can benefit up to three local patients. The Blood Assurance Bloodmobile will be located in the parking lot near Security Federal Savings Bank. Walk-in donors are welcome, but anyone wishing to reserve an appointment may call 815-4349.
Blood Assurance is the sole provider of blood donations for more than 50 hospitals and healthcare facilities, including River Park Hospital.
“Blood Assurance has been a part of our community for nearly 15 years, providing all of the blood used at River Park Hospital. They also provide blood to a majority of other surrounding hospitals, including Highlands Medical Center in Sparta, DeKalb Community Hospital and Stones River Hospital in Woodbury,” said Warren County Blood Assurance Advisory Board chairman Jeff Golden. “When you donate to Blood Assurance at a local drive or Blood Assurance facility, the blood stays in this region. You’re potentially saving the life of someone in this community.”
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 pounds. Donating blood takes, on average, less than 30 minutes and refreshments will be provided.
All donors will receive a free T-shirt and, during July, any visitor at a Blood Assurance blood drive can register to win a $500 gas card. For more information about the promotion, or to learn more about donating blood, please visit
