A Warren County man is in jail on $2 million bond and charged with the murder of a woman whose burned body was found at a rock quarry in Summitville.

Jimmy Jones Jr., was arrested Thursday night and is being held at Coffee County Jail. He is charged with the murder of Connie Brown, 51, of McMinnville. Her body was found by a four-wheeler rider at the abandoned rock quarry March 9.

An autopsy showed Brown died from a gunshot wound in the chest. Authorities said her body had been badly burned.

Coffee County Sheriff Steve Graves said Jones was placed at the murder scene on two different locations due to a GPS monitoring ankle bracelet. He was ordered to wear the bracelet when he was recently released from prison.

The GPS device also placed Jones at Brown’s home the day she disappeared.
