Arenas indicted for 1st-degree murder

Premeditated murder indictments have been handed down against a man witnesses say gunned down an unarmed man in front of the victim’s apartment this summer.The alleged killer, Gregorio Arenas, was indicted Friday by the Warren County grand jury for the shooting death of Albertano Guerro “Tonto” Trejo, 29. The indictments include that of first-degree murder for Trejo’s death, plus three counts of aggravated assault for him allegedly pointing the gun he had just used to kill Trejo at three witnesses and warning them he would come back and shoot them too if they talked to authorities.During a recently preliminary hearing, one of the aggravated assault victims, Rafael Medellin, told the court he saw Arenas shoot his roommate as the victim stood in the doorway of their apartment. Medellin said Arenas had walked into the residence uninvited a few moments before with a gun stuck in his waistband, challenging the victim to come outside.
