A Nashville-based energy company announced plans Thursday to locate a manufacturing facility in McMinnville.The company, Simpkins Energy Corporation, says it plans to hire 30 employees to produce natural gas compressors used to power vehicles. Natural gas is used instead of gasoline as the fuel in these vehicles.“We are literally manufacturing compressors from scratch,” said company founder and president Kent Simpkins. “We have a 10,000-square-foot facility in Nashville, but we outgrew that in a year and a half.
