Youth football is being resurrected this summer and will begin with a packed day of action at Nunley Stadium this Saturday. Jamboree games will be going on all day as three age divisions of young Pioneers get in their first action.
Warren County Youth Football, ran by director Tony Solomon, will have five teams in action Saturday while also welcoming teams from Grundy County, DeKalb County, Coffee County, Williamson County, Franklin County and Columbia.
Action begins with the Division 1 Warren County team facing off with Grundy County at 8 a.m. The Division 1 Pioneers will also be in action at 11 a.m. against Columbia as each game is scheduled for one hour of playing time.
At noon, The Division 2 Warren County Pioneers (A) will face off with Smithville. The interest level in youth football was so great that Warren County was able to split into two teams at the Division 2 level and the Warren County Pioneers (D2-B) will also play Smithville at 3 p.m.
Wrapping up the action is Division 3 games, where Warren County also will be fielding two teams this year. The D3-B Pioneers will take the field at 4 p.m. against Grundy County and the D3-A Pioneers will close play with a matchup against Smithville at 7 p.m.
Other games include Smithville vs. Manchester (D1) at 9 a.m., Williamson vs. Franklin (D1) at 10 a.m., Manchester vs. Williamson (D2) at 1 p.m., Franklin vs. Columbia (D2) at 2 p.m., Franklin vs. Columbia (D3) at 5 p.m. and Manchester vs. Williamson (D3) at 6 p.m.
